Math STAAR Review Grades 3-5

Grades 3-5 Math STAAR Review

Important Session Information:

Don’t cram a year’s instruction into a few review days! Instead, learn to maximize your classroom review time by identifying TEKS clusters of the highest need and creating a plan to address these needs within a reasonable amount of time.

In this workshop, we will:

  • Review regional data used to determine the areas of highest need.
  • Identify the key components for this year’s STAAR test using the STAAR Blueprint and Frequency Distribution documents.
  • Review item types and learn how to create quick assessments using existing items in TFAR to give students practice in the testing platform.
  • Explore ready-to-use classroom strategies and resources to support active, hands-on review.
  • Create a plan for implementation that spirals skills and supports differentiation.

This workshop will be based on patterns observed in regional data with regard to student performance on the past STAAR test and regional fall interim data.  This workshop will provide great resources and include activities you can implement in your classroom immediately!
