Science Standards & Strategies Series - 8th Grade
Units 06, 07, 08

This ongoing series provides support to 8th grade science teachers in unpacking the TEKS, analyzing assessment items and engaging in classroom activities that will increase student understanding of the more challenging Student Expectations. Each series workshop will align with content from the TEKS Resource System YAG.

Participants will also engage in study of the new TEKS (implemented in the 2024-25 school year) aligned with the current series content and the new Scientific and Engineering Practices and Recurring Themes and Concepts TEKS.

Important Session Information:

Join us online after school on Feb. 6 or 8 (4:15pm) for a QUICK synopsis of the activities provided for upcoming 8th grade units. You will receive a Drive link where all of the materials are housed.

Come unpack TEKS 8.7AB, 8.8A, and 8.11AB from Units 06, 07 and 08 and participate in engaging activities targeting mastery of these standards. We will also give you a preview of how these standards may shift with implementation of the new TEKS.
