Do you have students who struggle with reading and spelling?
Is fluency compromised because students are not proficient with recognizing important patterns within multi-syllable words?
In this 15-minute mini lesson you will:
- Explore the six syllable types in English: closed, open, vowel-consonant-e, r-controlled, vowel teams, and consonant-le.
- Learn how to identify and classify words into each syllable type.
- Be provided a lesson template and activities to teach syllable types.
- Reflect on your own teaching practice and consider how to integrate syllable types into your instruction.
This session is useful for individual learning or for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
When you register, you will receive a confirmation email with the link to the Smore, which contains links to the video and resources.
Teachers will receive 1 hour of CPE upon completing of the video and short reflection.
