Getting Ready for the New Science TEKS: Online Course

Pack your (teacher) bag for the Ultimate Road Trip through the new science TEKS! While the new high school TEKS were adopted in 2020 and K-8 TEKS were adopted in 2021, the new standards will not be implemented in Texas classrooms until school year 2024-2025...NEXT YEAR! We can prepare for teaching the new standards by learning about SEPs, RTCs, and the shifts, additions and deletions in science concepts for your grade level.  

This Canvas course is designed for you to complete the modules independently of each other. You will receive ONE HOUR CPE for each module you complete. These modules can be completed alone or with a department or PLC group. However, in order to receive credit, each participant will need to register for this course (here) and complete the short 'Thinking Tasks' independently for each module.  


Important Session Information:


You only need to register one time to access all of the course modules - you can access and complete as many modules as you wish, each for 1 CPE. For successful completion of all six modules you will receive 6 hours CPE. Always read the "START HERE" page for each module's video instructions. This course opens on September 11, 2023 and will remain open until December 31, 2023 for data capture and issuance of earned CPEs. If you have not completed all modules and choose to continue in the course in the spring semester, instructions will be provided at a later date.
