Whether a student is answering a question in a discussion, writing it down on a group poster, or typing it into the text box on STAAR, they need to know how to answer what is being asked and provide evidence. How do we build this skill though?
In this training, participants will participate in and analyze how to use different types of pictures (with and without words) to answer prompts and provide evidence. We will move from pictures to texts with graphic elements and analyze the gradual realease so that students understand the process of answering a question, providing supporting evidence, and explaining their thinking.
All of these skills are used not only in the Short-Constructed Response and Extended-Constructed Responses, but in every question they will be asked.
