Finding STAAR Success in the Secondary RLA Classroom

Making Instructional Connections

Important Session Information:

The STAAR Assessment for Secondary Teachers has evolved and so our instructional practices should evolve as well.  We know that the redesigned STAAR test aligns with high-quality classroom instruction, focusing on engagement, critical thinking, and multiple ways of assessing learning. During our time together we will dive into each of these areas.

In this workshop participants will:

  • Break down the thinking processes that the STAAR 2.0 items require of students.
  • Explore and create instructional strategies that align to the STAAR 2.0 thinking.
  • Differentiate our instruction to allow students to make the connections.
