CANCELLED: Science Curriculum Planning and STAAR Data Dig: MS Grades 6-8

As a result of our learning, Grades 6-8 science teachers will collaboratively plan for the 2nd six/nine weeks of study using TEKS Resource System documents, analyze Grade 8 STAAR data and create assessment items for student practice of STAAR 2.0 new item types.

Important Session Information:

Collaborate with Region 17 middle school (6-8) science teachers to unpack the TEKS for the 2nd six/nine weeks of study. We will examine Performance Assessments and create Know/Show charts and lesson plan outlines from the instructional focus documents (IFDs) for these units. We will dig into 2022 Grade 8 STAAR data, dissect the troublesome TEKS, identify strong supporting activities and resources and create assessment items that will model STAAR 2.0 new item types.
