The annual Panhandle STEM conference-hosted at ESC 17 (Lubbock) this year- is two days of learning you do NOT want to miss! This collaborative conference hosted by Region 16 and 17 ESCs continues to equip teachers across our regions with the latest strategies, content and materials in each of the STEM areas. 

This year's theme - DESTINATION STEM - highlights the inclusion of local STEM-related FIELD TRIPS (participant choice) that have been added to the Day 1 schedule. Other highlights include:

  • Keynote address and teacher workshop: Dr. Jason Morris and Dr. Trey Shirley, Abilene Christian University professors, will deliver Everyone is a Designer: Design Thinking for the Classroom with Play4More.
  • Day 1 FIELD TRIP block: Indoor and outdoor options for exploring real-world STEM-related fields throughout Lubbock. 
  • Breakout sessions led by local educators, ESC Specialists and vendors
  • Sessions presented by Austin-based TEKS Resource System personnel 
  • Vendor fair showcasing educational materials
  • Networking with colleagues who love STEM! 

*GT hours are available through individual session presentations-GT criteria had to be fulfilled for presentations to receive GT designation for participants.
