What do the New STAAR Item Types Mean for Instruction?
We Still Teach the Knowledge & Skills

Reading Language Arts (RLA) Teachers will use STAAR Analysis, TEA information of the new STAAR types, and Instructional Practices to move beyond "Teaching to the Test".

Important Session Information:

The new STAAR item types can be scary because...they're new!  And anything new is scary.  In this workshop, we will explore the different items types and break down the thinking process that is involved with each question type.  We will identify what that process looks like in the classroom setting during instruction.

We will also explore STAAR Analyses to understand, at a deeper level, why students may get confused by certain question stems and not by others.  We will discuss our next steps that will improve instruction in the classroom.
