Six-Traits Writing
(6-8) How to Read and Write with the Six Traits in Mind



Using the Six-Traits to work the Performance Assessments with focus.

Important Session Information:


In this session, Middle School Teachers will work to understand the 6-Traits of Writing: Ideas, Organization, Word Choice, Voice, Conventions, and Sentence Fluency.   Teachers will apply the Reader's eye to different genres to use author's writing as Mentor Texts.  Writing with the Six-Traits gives teachers and students a focus.  Which of the traits do I need to strengthen?  Which combination of traits do we need to study?

Opportunities for sharing, questioning, and discussion will be offered throughout the day.  Co-Teachers are welcome to attend together as well!
