Identifying Communication Modes of Your Students with Complex Needs
Do this First for Authentic Engagement & Inclusion

Before IEP writing and lesson planning, it is important to first identify the modes of communication of our students with complex needs.  Knowing and consistently using communication supports increases active learning engagement and promotes authentic inclusion.

Important Session Information:

Before IEP writing, schedule setting, and lesson planning, it is important to first identify the communication modes of our students with complex needs.  Students without supports and consistent opportunities to practice communication miss out on authentic engagement and inclusion, both educationally and socially.  In this session, attendees will gain research-based understanding of the importance of identifying modes of communication, learn the different modes of communication available, and have opportunities to identify effective modes of communication for their students with complex needs.  Join us for this session to learn how identifying and consistently using supports for communication modes could make this school year the most inclusive yet for your students with complex needs.
