Learning the Assessments to Assist with Dyslexia Identification
CTOPP, GORT, TWS, & WRMT

This training will help evaluators (dyslexia and special education) learn how to administer assessments that may be used for the identification of dyslexia.  This training can only be provided FACE-TO-FACE at Region 17 so a virtual/online option will not be available.

Test kits that will be reviewed include the:

  • CTOPP (Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing)
  • GORT (Gray Oral Reading Test)
  • TWS (Test of Written Spelling)
  • WRMT (Woodcock Reading Mastery Test)

Participants will need to bring these test kits with them, if their district has them available.  If your district does not have these test kits, please email Elizabeth Archer (earcher@esc17.net) and Cynthia Hobbs (chobbs@esc17.net) to make arrangements for borrowing a kit.

We will provide an overview of how to administer each test kit and allow time for practice administration of each test.
