English Learners can have significant gaps in phonemic awareness that affects their spelling, reading, and writing. Implementation of multisensory methods for reading and spelling in addition to Tucker Signing can help children develop phonemic awareness through the identification and relationship between the twenty-six English graphemes (letters) and most of their corresponding phonemes (sounds). For children learning a second language (L2), providing a mental model to reinforce explicit phonics instruction leads to reading success. We will do a book study of resources and discuss how implementation of additional tools will benefit all your struggling students.
