Assistive Technology Evaluations for Students with Visual Impairment
The Important Role of AT Eval Personnel and Teams
This workshop begins with a briefing on the importance of designating and utilizing an Assistive Technology Evaluation Team (ATET), and the education law that supports it. Basic functions of an ATET will be presented, for evaluating students with any disability. Participants will gain skills for completing an AT evaluation for students with visual impairments. This workshop is ideal for district AT Eval Teams, and is also recommended for AT eval leadership, Diagnosticians, Campus Administrators, Special Education Directors, GenEd and SpEd Teachers, and Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments.
Important Session Information:
Dr. Shannon Darst from SFASU VI Preparation Program joins Region 17 Student Support Services staff to present the importance of districts designating assistive technology (AT) evalutaion personnel, to form a small team, the essential service an AT Eval team serves, and the education law that addresses AT.
