Using Film and Media to Create Better Secondary Readers and Writers

Film speaks to us on different levels: literary, cinematic, and dramatic.

In this workshop, we will explore ways to connect the basic elements of film composition to our classroom curriculum in order to build reading, language, and writing skills. Because the interplay between text and image is not always simple, we will also examine ways to use film and media to stimulate critical and visual thinking.
