CACFP Procurement Series, Session 1 of 4: Forecasting and Scheduling based on Cycle Menus
Participants will work through a process of creating and implementing a cycle menu for childcare centers. The process accounts for choking prevention, color and variety of menu items, and foods that contain sources of nutrients that are often lacking in children's diets. Along with training on cycle menu planning, participants will be introduced to steps and resources that will assist in meeting forecasting requirements for the organization’s procurement period.
Learning Outcomes Include:
Practice evaluating and improving cycle menus to fulfill the program mission
Understand how to use cycle menus to forecast the quantity of product and equipment required
