Introduction to Write Trait Instruction and Assessment for High School
Trait writing focuses on the key characteristics of good writing: idea development, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions.
In this introductory workshop geared for teachers new to trait writing, we will examine the six traits of good writing; look at how reading and writing are irrevocably connected; score and calibrate papers; and examine the classroom writing cycle. We will also examine how to blend trait writing into a STAAR world.
