Organizing Reading Instruction Around Student Goals
In this session participants will learn how to organize your instructional time around what you need to accomplish with your students. In reading, they need to learn to decode and encode text accurately, learn to read text fluently, learn to comprehend text, and learn to compose text. This requires a mix of whole class, small group, and individual teaching. We will take a look at what measures can be used to determine student goals and how to structure learning based on those goals.Participants will make and take activities geared towards meeting student goals.
