Preparing for Microsoft Certifications

Are you wanting to offer Microsoft Certifications and not sure how? Are you currently offering them but want to learn more? Jimmy Fikes, from Plainview ISD, will share the ins and outs of offering Microsoft certifications for students. He will specifically address the following:

-   The requirements to achieve the Microsoft Office Specialist certification and how this fits into both the requirements for A-F evaluation and Perkins grants.

-  A demonstration of the GMetrix training software that PHS uses to prepare its students for certification all the way through the MOS Office Specialist Master level.

 - How to map the Microsoft Office MOS learning objectives to the TEKS for BIM 1 and BIM 2.

- The requirements of setting up your own local Certiport testing center, and explain what is required if you intend to use another testing center.

- The curriculum recommended for training candidates for certification.

- A demonstration how to make testing these resources available to students through Microsoft OneNote.

- How to differentiate the curriculum as needed and how accommodations can be made during the training and testing phases of the program.
