K-12 RLA TEKS Study
RLA TEKS Study: Strand 3-- Response Skills



A PLC study-starter addressing each strand.

Important Session Information:


This study is designed to be conducted within the time frame of a PLC period. A video will be shared with registrants and a sample of work will be submitted for credit. Participants will be guided through the use of the Reading Language Arts TEKS - Horizontal and Vertical Alignment Documents. The following points will be addressed: -Sub-Strand (if present), -Knowledge and Skill Statement, -Student Expectations (SEs), -Verbs of the SEs, and -Key Words that address the depth of understanding and depth of engagement. The deep dive into the Vertical Alignment Document will include the following points: -Identification and understanding of the language domains, -Identification of the Sub-Strand (if present), -Understanding of any implications the Knowledge and Skill Statements have, -Identification of cognitive increases from grade level to grade level, and -Vertical summation of skills, K-12.
