Gifted Individuals are intense, cognitively and emotionally, and both types of intensity bring unique challenges. Students with asynchronous development, heightened intensities, overexcitabilities, and varying social and emotional temperaments often have their expectations lumped together as a group, leading to frustration in the student, teacher, and parent. In many cases, they are never identified as gifted. They become frustrated, sad, stressed, angry, and anxious in the place they should thrive the most.
