Texas Formative Assessment Resource (TFAR) & Reading Language Arts--Middle School

STAAR Grades 6-8, RLA

Important Session Information:

The STAAR test has been redesigned to be more aligned with the classroom experience. As teachers transition to STAAR 2.0, it will be important to give students opportunities to practice on the new digital platform with each of the new items.  It is equally important to give teachers opportunities to practice creating on this new digital platform.

Participants in this workshop will have a brief overview of each of the new item types and how they will apply in the Reading Language Arts (RLA) classroom. Then, participants will learn how to navigate and operate the TFAR system.  *Participants are asked to bring their TFAR Credentials with them to the training

As a result of our learning during this professional development, participants will be able to create new item types to create to an item bank that will be shared among participants following the workshop.  The afternoon of this session is a coaching session in which teachers will apply what they've learned.  There will be ample time to network with other teachers, troubleshoot any issues, and begin building new item types to be shared.  Your presenter will be in the room guiding and coaching as needed.

*Participants will want to bring their device for learning on digital platforms and creating new digital item types.
