Building Math Skills through Blocks In Early Childhood!
Block Fest Too!!

Research tells us that children's knowledge of math concepts when they enter school is a strong predictor of later achievement, even stronger than early reading ability.  Many children leave Kindergarten without a foundational understanding of number and continue to lag behind their peers in math achievement.   Come explore the relationships between block play and early math and science. Dress comfortably as we will spend part of our day on the floor exploring 5 different  block stations.  Participants will leave with a greater understanding of the benefits of block play as it relates to emergent mathematics.  Participants will also leave with the tools to have a Block Fest at their school!
