Complex Access Needs (CAN) Professional Learning Community (PLC) meets for support and training specifically for serving students with complex access needs. While Life Skills/Self-Contained classrooms are managed differently, teach both academic & functional skills, & have students who are functioning significantly below their enrolled grade levels, grade level TEKS still must be accessed.
Join the CAN PLC monthly workshop to plan & problem-solve with other Reg 17 CAN Teachers, & practice using vertical alignment documents & TEKS Resource System. Also participate in training on a variety of TEA-approved topics for effectively teaching students with significant cognitive disabilities, including: literacy, building a foundation of support, inclusion, instructional planning resources, quality IEPs, accessing TEKS, & differentiation.
