Building Behavior: Evidence-Based Initiatives for Educators

Students need safe and welcoming learning environments that meet social/emotional and behavioral needs while maintaining high expectations for academic learning.  To achieve this, schools must implement behavioral initiatives that are consistent and based on research and evidence.

Based on the books "Building Behavior" and "Don't Suspend Me!", both by Jessica Djabrayan Hannigan & John E. Hannigan, this session will focus on examining several of these initiatives such as PBIS, Character Education, Trauma-Informed Practices, and more.  We will look at the strengths and intended outcomes of each initiative, and discuss practical implementation strategies.
