Exploring Strategies to Connect Science and Literacy
K-3

Science and literacy instruction do not have to be done in isolation. In fact, the two subjects can be more powerful when combined. In this session, science teachers will learn simple strategies for incorporating reading, writing, oral language and vocabulary into their science lessons.

Topics Include:

  • Why incorporating science and literacy is essential for students
  • Simple, easy to implement strategies for supporting young scientists with reading, writing, and speaking
  • Example activities that you can adjust and implement in your own classroom

Teachers will walk away with knowledge on how to implement strategies and tools to use in the classroom.
