A system is a set of components working together as parts of a mechanism with a common structure, function, or goal. The TEKS Resource System is made up of a scope and sequence, Performance Assessments, content area units of instruction, assessment items, resources, and more! The common goal from Reading Language Arts, to Science, to Social Studies, to Mathematics is to advance students' academic success.
Join the content specialists of Region 17 ESC as we dive into the system together. The morning will be a whole-group session made up of an exploration of the common mission, the common structure, and the common components across the content areas.
For the second part of the day, participants will work within a specific content areas. Although the TEKS Resource System's components all share the same mission, structure, and goal, each of the content areas has its own characteristics to be mastered. The content-specific session will be conducted by a specialist in that area.
Participants will leave with a better understanding of the TEKS Resource System, its components, how to best utilize those components and how each content area works to empower teachers to advance students' academic success.
