STAAR Preparation 2022
Going for the Gold! Grades 6-8 (RLA)



Elementary Reading Language Arts (RLA) Teachers

Strategies, Resources, and Information will be shared. Participants will leave the workshop with access to resources that can be tailored to their individual classrooms.

Discussion will be open for how to use these resources over the upcoming days and weeks with students and with multiple text sources. Participants are encouraged to share ideas and how they can use these resources.

 

 


Important Session Information:


During this STAAR Preparation Workshop, teachers will be taken through the following agenda:

  • STAAR Updates for the 2022 Assessment
  • TEKS Awareness & Steps of STAAR Items
  • STAAR Analysis: Each SE and many items will be addressed.  We will look at the data at the state level and the regional level.  Teachers will understand and practice identifying the reasons students select the wrong answer (distractors) and how the distractors fall short of being the correct answer.
  • Revision and Editing: Modeling and practice of STAAR Preparation Strategies for R&E.
  • Afternoon Station Work: Teachers will be broken up into groups to gain insight and practice in smaller groups on the following topics: Annotation Ideas for Online Assessment, Academic Language for ELs, STAAR Analysis Collaboration, and more.

Participants will have access to editable E-Documents that can be tailored to individual classroom needs.
