Building Fluency with Addition and Subtraction
K-2 Math



Students often struggle with ideas about addition and subtraction. The importance of these two concepts and the challenge of understanding them make it essential for K-2 teachers to understand in depth.

During this workshop, teachers will learn more about the following:

  • The developmental nature of learning addition and subtraction facts
  • Addition and Subtraction Learning Progressions
  • Developing addition and subtraction strategies that lead to fluency with basic facts

Teachers will dive deeper into strategies, routines, and activities that support fluency in addition and subtraction!
