Region 17's 8th Grade Social Studies U
Preparing for the Social Studies STAAR 2022



Each month, 8th grade teachers will meet to do a deep dive into the next units' content and instruction. Teachers will be working with the social studies content, strategies, and resources to support mastery of the 8th grade TEKS.

Important Session Information:


8th Grade Social Studies teachers will meet monthly to work on content knowledge, strategies, and resources to help with unit instruction and student mastery. Each session is 3 hours long- BUT feel free to stay for the afternoon HB4545 session each time for support on accelerated instruction and social studies skills resources and strategies.

Session #1- American Revolution and U.S. Constitution

Session #2- Early Republic and Age of Jackson

Session #3- Industrial Revolution and Westward Expansion

Session #4- Age of Reform and Sectionalism

Session #5- Civil War and Reconstruction

Session #6- STAAR Review
