Core Vocabulary and Teaching Strategies



This workshops is designed for staff serving students with complex access and communication needs and will address evidence-based practices for improving instructional practices in the areas of differentiated instruction and social communication. This session will address methods for creating communication opportunities, the importance of core vocabulary and outline teaching strategies. District or SSA staff are encouraged to attend in teams.

We CAN Communicate:  Core Vocabulary and Teaching Strategies is a workshop designed for staff serving students with complex access and communication needs and will address evidence-based practices for improving instructional practices in the areas of core vocabulary and teaching strategies.  It is the second in a 3-part series that includes:
  1. Creating Communication Opportunities
  2. Core Vocabulary and Teaching Strategies
  3. We CAN Read
Each session is designed to stand alone but the most benefit will be obtained from attending all three.  District or SSA staff are encouraged to attend in teams.
