Decoding and the Emerging Reader
PreK-1st Grade With Shari Zimmer



Who should attend? Grade PreK-1st grade teachers, or teachers of older struggling students, and elementary administrators and literacy professionals. Join us for our engaging and efficient Decoding and the Emerging Reader WorkshopParticipants will walk away with immediate strategies and learn the best practices in teaching the sub-skills that build strong decoders. 

What will you learn? Come develop strategies to ensure your emerging readers will establish firm foundations in the sub-skills that lead to strong decoding and fluent reading. Learn how to teach phoneme play, letter-sound relationships, encoding, decoding, onset rhyme, rhyming, and sight word fluency. Participants learn the most efficient methods for helping young students read developmentally appropriate unfamiliar and multi-syllable words.
