As you close out 2020-21 school year and prepare for 2021-22, ESC17 once again is bringing you the School Finance Symposium. The symposium will be held in-person at ESC 17 on August 3rd.
Amanda Brownson, with TASBO, will provide a legislative update at the symposium. She will highlight important legislation impacting education and focus on changes that will impact state funding.
Omar Garcia, with BOK, Inc., will once again be presenting his latest template. He will highlight the impact of Hold Harmless ADA funding and how to get accurate results based on your district attendance for 2020-21.
The symposium will also include an overview of the latest Truth-in-Taxation forms as published by the State Comptroller. Carol Voit with ESC17 will highlight important information discuss the worksheets districts must follow when adopting budgets and tax rates. The ESC17 Accountability and Compliance component will provide an update and highlights on ESSER funds. This will help districts ensure they have the latest information on the significant funds being awarded to districts through ESSER.
ESC17 will also cover other hot topics of interest to school business operations including reviewing TRS rule changes from legislation and ESSER impacting TRS contributions, reporting, and pension surcharges.
This will be a great opportunity to hear speakers known across the state without having to travel a great distance or incur significant travel expenses. The event will include a catered lunch.
