We thank you for choosing to #BeTheDifference and hope that you are staying safe and healthy during this difficult time.
The National Council has released a virtual Mental Health First Aid course, proven to be an efficient way for participants to receive the training virtually.
First Aiders will complete a 2-hour, self-paced class, and then participate in a 4.5-hour, Instructor-led class using videoconferencing technology.
The virtual training will be based on new curricula that has been in development for more than a year. It includes expanded content on trauma, addiction and self-care. Youth MHFA will include new content applicable for adults working with elementary-age children, including content on the impact of social media. The content is gender neutral and culturally relevant.
We are excited to work with West Texas Centers to offer a virtual YMHFA class during after school hours! Join us in the evening to learn about how to help a youth who is experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis.
