STEM: STEMulating Design Challenges for 9-12th Grade

Explore ways to implement TEKS-aligned design challenges in high school science and CTE classrooms.

Important Session Information:

There will be three hours of pre-work for this course. In the face-to-face portion of the full day workshop, we will experience the engineering design process first-hand while learning about challenges that let students practice collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. These activities help students develop time management, adaptability, and innovative thinking skills. Each workshop participant will receive a printed copy of the book, "STEMulating Design Challenges in Science, Grades 9-12" along with digital access to downloadable content. (This resource was created by Region 4 content specialists for Texas teachers and, therefore, will be created through the lens of the TEKS.)

*Participants will be notified of the pre-work at least two weeks in advance of this course. Deadline to register for the course, therefore, is June 29, 2021.
