Tell Me the Truth: Teen Substance Misuse-Risks and Responseā€

In this workshop, participants will explore what makes children and youth vulnerable to substance misuse.  We’ll look at developmental stages, predisposition and the risks that heighten the possibility of disordered use.  Time will be dedicated to discuss the elements of effective prevention, what substances are currently being used and identify ongoing/new resources to address concerns around substance use. The best part of the day will be when students in recovery join the discussion to talk about their time in K-12 school, the responses that were provided by educational systems to address their substance use and what they believe today could be more effective.
