Reading is comprised of Word Recognition and Language Comprehension.
In this session, we will look at the basis of Skilled Reading: Word Recognition. Participants will watch a short video taking them through the basics of Scarborough's Reading Rope, its connection to the Reading Language Arts TEKS, and focus on sounds, letters, and words.
Participants will then have a chance to dig deep into their grade level TEKS and align those TEKS to the Word Recognition strand of Scarborough's Rope.
