Session Detail

We CAN Communicate
Creating Communication Opportunities

This series of workshops is designed for staff serving students with complex access and communication needs and will address evidence-based practices for improving instructional practices in the areas of differentiated instruction and social communication. The three part series includes

  1. Engineering the Environment
  2. Creating Communication Opportunities
  3. Core Vocabulary and Teaching Strategies

Each session is designed to stand alone but the most benefit will be obtained from attending all three. District or SSA staff are encouraged to attend in teams.

You CAN be the difference maker for your students!

Important Session Information:

This session will recommend strategies for staff to use when interacting with students with complex access and communication needs. These strategies, when used effectively, improve and increase students' verbal/augmented output. Come learn how to create communication opportunities that result in more genuine interactions with your students.
