Engineering the Environment



This workshops is designed for staff serving students with complex access and communication needs and will address evidence-based practices for improving instructional practices in the areas of differentiated instruction and social communication. This session will address methods for creating communication opportunities, the importance of core vocabulary and outline teaching strategies. District or SSA staff are encouraged to attend in teams.

You CAN be the difference maker for your students! 


Important Session Information:


This session will address how and why to prepare your classroom/school setting with visual and communication supports for students with complex access and communication needs. You will be given resources for designing environments to facilitate augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) so that we CAN AAC all day! Opportunities to receive make-and-take items will be available.

 

This session will be held in person at ESC 17 with health and safety measures in place.
