Enhance your knowledge and skills in food safety and sanitation practices, HACCP systems and procedures, food handling practices and training of food handlers, and proper management of the food service facility. Upon successful completion of the course and exam, participants receive a ServSafe certificate valid for 5 years. At the end of the 5 year certification, participants, must complete the 2-day course and exam again. There are no automatic renewals.
Enrollment is limited to child nutrition employees of CEs participating in one of the Texas Department of Agriculture Child Nutrition Programs (NSLP, SBP, SSO, CACFP and SFSP).
Each feeding site must have at least one CFM; all other feeding site staff must have at least a certified food handler certification to ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation practices.
