Important Session Information:

Workshop will be Virtual.

"Are You as Smart as a Buzzard-How to Avoid Becoming Ethical Roadkill and Avoid Burnout "

Ethics workshops are boring, or scary, or both, right?  Not really.  This workshop, presented by a biologist turned counselor, will explore ethics and wellness from a different perspective.  Prepare to laugh and be entertained as we learn about ethics and how to avoid the most common ethical violation committed by mental health professionals-a lack of self-care.  We may think of buzzards as ugly, stinky scavengers, but they are surprisingly wise and can teach us a lot about how to live well and practice ethically.  Other animals, from caterpillars, to geese, dolphins, and even the birds in the Walmart parking lot have wisdom to impart regarding how to practice our craft ethically and maintain our own mental health while doing so. This workshop will explore ethical and wellness  principles for mental health professionals by observing our animal brethren.  Remember, buzzards don't get burnout!
