BIL/ESL: Getting Started with the ELPS and Sheltered Instruction
Amherst



This 1/2 day training will assist in understanding the basics of how to apply the ELPS cross-curricular expectations and linguistic accommodations in content area lessons.  The ELPS Instructional Guide and Linguistic Instructional Accommodations Guide will be used to explore the integration of the ELPS in lesson planning and instructional practices to effectively design and deliver instruction to meet the needs of EL students.  

Participants will get an overview of components of guide, the language development process, the PLDs, and linguistic accommodations for each language domain in addition to information on best practices in Sheltered Instruction.
