Pathfinder Mentor Training
Pathfinder as Pedagogical Coach

Welcome to Pathfinder, a mentor training series in the strand of teacher trainings we call the Teaching Pathway. Our mentor training will support the coaching from mentors to teachers in areas of classroom management, pedagogy, student achievement, and data analysis. The training cadence will be experienced in three sessions, one session ahead of the school year, a second in early fall, and a third in early spring. Help others find their teaching path!

Important Session Information:

The early fall session will get back into Get Better Faster with a look and diagnosis on the rigor trajectory, including informal data collection. Mentors will diagnosis a next coaching step, locate and analyze a supporting video, and plan a coaching conversation. Reflection on past coaching and collaborating with other mentors will also be a part of this day. Then, skills from cognitive coaching will be shared to build capacity of mentors to coach, listen, and respond. This portion will take from Impact Coaching, a model shared by TEA during the T-TESS roll-out.

T-TESS/T-PESS:
Dimension 4.3: Professional Development, Dimension 4.4: School Community Involvement; Standard 2 - Human Capital
