Reading and the Texas School Library Standards
Diving Deep into the Inquiry and Research Strand



How do they work together to make Texas students better readers?  Better researchers? 


Important Session Information:


The Texas School Library Standards strongly support the New ELAR TEKS through the Reading Strand and the Inquiry Strand. We will explore the ways that the school library and librarian can support our ELAR teachers in furthering these goals for our students. The new ELAR TEKS now concentrate strongly on “choice reading” and “the research process”. Both areas of focus are strongly supported in the school library. Let’s work together to establish ways that the librarian and ELAR teachers can plan to support and further our children’s reading and language skills!

The final goal will be to create at least one or two lessons or themes that can be used in K-12 curriculum instruction in the coming school year.
