SkillsUSA 101 – An Overview of the SkillsUSA Texas Experience
This workshop will now be offered via ZOOM only.



SkillsUSA is a nationally recognized Career and Technical Student Organization that focuses on creating a unique experience for its members through a partnership between students, teachers and industry. SkillsUSA’s mission is to help its members become world-class workers and responsible American citizens. SkillsUSA complements technical and skilled training with instruction that is co-curricular and integral to CTE programs. From Perkins funding to the SkillsUSA Framework, this session will provide an overview of the SkillsUSA Texas experience and provide an insight into what makes SkillsUSA stand out among other student organizations.

- Participants will learn to value of incorporating a CTSO into their curriculum.

- Participants will learn the importance for students to participate in a CTSO.

- Participants will gain an in depth look at the application of the SkillsUSA framework.

This workshop will be presented by Bart Taylor, District Coordinator for SkillsUSA via Zoom. A link will be sent out to participants prior to the training date.
