A Step Toward Quality & Rigor introduces and walks participants through a TEA-approved, evidence-based practice (EBP) rubric for developing PLAAFPs, goals/objectives, and progress monitoring methods of the IEP for students with significant cognitive disabilities; student with complex access support needs.  Attendees will follow the user-friendly rubric with example PLAAFP statements and goal/objective-writing steps, discover advantages of using resources from Texas Complex Access Network (TxCAN), and identify methods for progress monitoring.   This session provides attendees with foundational resources and information for empowering all students with appropriate, effective instruction and support.
