Basics of Dyslexia With Simulations: For Those New to Dyslexia



Participants will consider the International Dyslexia Association's definition of Dyslexia, discover common facts and myths and survey potential accommodations for students with Dyslexia in the classroom. 

In addition, participants will participate in a series of simulations to experience what it is like for the dyslexic student. 


Important Session Information:


Do you have teachers who need training in current research and practice concerning dyslexia? This workshop will fulfill TEC §21.054(b) and 19 TAC §232.11(e) and will include interactive, fun, yet challenging simulations to let participants experience what it might feel like to be a student with dyslexia. We will also examine what classroom accommodations could look like.This will be the only offering of this type during the school year.
