Chapter 37 with TEA
Session #1



Mary Scott from TEA has created a guide book relating to Discipline and Chapter 37. She will be at Region 17 ESC presenting this resource, describing scenarios and "what if’s" of data coding as well as reviewing rules and best practices for coding discipline.

This workshop fulfills HB 1952 and Chapter 37.0181 training requirements which states that for each principal or other appropriate administrator who oversees student discipline shall, at least once every three school years, attend professional development training regarding this subchapter, including training relating to the distinction between a discipline management technique used at the principal's discretion under Section 37.002(a) and the discretionary authority of a teacher to remove a disruptive student under Section 37.002(b).

This workshop is for members of the TSDS/PEIMS contract.
