This event would feature a variety of fun activities to address the communication and behavior skills being addressed on students’ individual education plans in a novel setting to promote generalization of skills. A variety of assistive technology devices/tools would be made available and modeling from ESC 17 staff would be provided to increase LEA staff knowledge base of communication accessibility tools available in the AT lending library and implementation strategies. This would also be an opportunity to many students of the early childhood and elementary age from surrounding regions to interact socially and communicatively with unfamiliar adults, a task in which some rarely have the opportunity to engage, especially those with more complex communication needs or more intense behavior/social language needs.
