English Learners can have significant gaps in phonemic awareness that affects their spelling, reading, and writing. Using tools such as Tucker Signing can help children develop phonemic awareness through the identification and relationship between the twenty-seven English graphemes (letters) and most of their corresponding phonemes (sounds). For children learning a second language (L2), providing a mental model to reinforce explicit phonics instruction to support reading success is essential. We will do a book study of resource and discuss how implementation of additional tools will benefit all your struggling students.
